Dare to be Better

I’m sitting here in front of my laptop, thinking about my resolution. I know that January is almost end. And the New Year is already gone. I know that I’m about too late to think about it right now. But, we are still using the word better late than never, right?

So guys, one of my resolutions for 2013 is to give some reparation for this heart. Just a little story, my heart got a little attack. Call it broken heart. ^^v so, in this New Year I would like to set my heart up. So, everything’s going to be brighter than before. I don’t know, this heart is really fragile last year. Make my tears fall down easily.

The second, I want to fix my life up. I will make it well-organized. So that, I will sincerely follow Miss Kadek advice for making list for my big rocks everyday. Actually I've done it since I was at grade ten. I always have a ‘to do list’ everyday. Anyway, the ‘to do list’ is only for help me. The point is how I do all the things I have planned before. So, in this 2013 I will make my self more discipline. And I’m also going to make the one more routine list, which is doing some sport. I’m gonna make a fact that I will not get in to the university with this high. Wish me luck.

And I’m going to increase my academic achievement. I just feel that I didn't give my best yet for this thing. Sometimes I felt I have given my best, but if I think about it again, yes I might give my best already but my friend’s best may be better than mine. So, what I have to do is to study harder, and work harder than I ever done before.

I don’t give any force to this self to do all of those resolutions. But ask my self politely if she wants to do it together with me. So we can have such a great team work to make this self greater than before.

Don't Forget The Way

What a wonderful year it is. After all issues that passed our ears. The “The end of the world” issue that made us completely worried. I wonder how the issue maker makes this issue become so famous and so wrong. There’s no one in this world know the time for this world to be wrecked.  So, I know that this issues won’t be come true, but is till worried about it somehow.

Well, I still thanks to the issue maker, because you make this New Year become a little bit more special than last year. Because it feels like we can pass the Big Question Mark, “Is it true the world will be done this year?”.  And fortunately the answer is, “No Guys, It’s not the end of the world!”.

All people blow their trumpet as the celebration of the New Year, the day the world didn’t go to pieces. The fire works are dancing in the sky, accompanied by so many huge wishes from every single soul in this world. Usually, we called it as resolution.

If we talk about resolution, I remember a book titled “Diary of Wimpy Kid”. On that book, more or less Greg said “Everyone busy with resolution to make them better, but I feel that my self is already good, so my resolution is to help everyone to be better”. I don’t know if it is real story or not, what I’m about to know is that everyone wants to be better day after day.

Be better is our destination. Most of us only think about the destination, not the way to get there. While, finding the way is the most important part to get a place. That’s why there a lot of people get failure to get there. If you want to be better, the first thing you should do is to look back. To see, the previous life of yours, take which is good and kick which is not. Than, repeat the goodness and replace the bad thing. That’s all.

Chaching Chaching !

Justin Bieber is a great singer, or may be more than that. He is a wonderful musician, because he’s not only good at sing, but also in creating song, and playing some music instruments. His fame grows up from you tube, and he proves that he’s do worthy to be famous. He went round the world to hold his concert. And you know what? He came to Indonesia!

Can you imagine how excited I was? This rare moment was really special. Unfortunately, he came here when I have to prepare a lot of thing for my final national examination. No waaaaay! I should be there with some beliebers, I should be there to be his one less lonely girl and I should be there to meet him. No matter what! But what could I do at that time? Because still, my future is more important than went to Jakarta and see him from the audience sit.

But still, I can’t lie that I really want to be there, to see his face, to sing with him, to hold his hand may be and whatever. I just wanna see him with real, not only his picture. I can describe him no word. These words are still can’t describe how incredible he is. Help me! I can’t stop for praising him.

If you think that I did nothing for his concert, you were totally wrong. I asked my father all the time, let’s draw this scene on mind!

One day in the early morning, I made my self until I was this close to my father. Then, here come the conversation between a Dad and his little angel.

Me   : “Yah, there will be Justin Bieber Concert in Sentul, at April 24^th.”

Dad  : “Yeah, I know dear, I found it on the newspaper.”

Me   : “What do you think yah?”

Dad  : “I think it will be good, because he has a lot of fan right?”

Me    : “Yes yah, you’re right! And do you know yah? I am one of them”

Dad  : “Great, so?” (seemed like he already know what is in my mind)

Me   : “May I go there? please…”

Dad  : “For what? There’s nothing you can get there.”

Me    : “I wanna see him closer”

Dad  : “Television and internet can make you see him closer, than sitting on the audience seat which is so far from the stage unless you have the VIP ticket”

Me   : “But, at least it is real yah”

Dad  : “Sorry, but you said that you wanna see him closer, so I think it’s ok if it is not real I think”

Me    : “Please yah, let me go there…”

Dad  : “I am sorry dear. You should prepare your self for your national exam. And I will not spend my money for something which is not really important like that, dear”

Me   : “It’s ok if you don’t let me go there, but please yah… don’t say that it’s not important, because it is really important for me. Hopefully you’ll let me come to his next concert, for paying your mistake.”

Dad  : “Haha, finally you give up, huh? What mistake dear?”

Me   : “Your mistake is saying that this thing is not important.”

Dad  : “Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaahahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”

That was my (not really) hard work to ask my father’s permission and his money. Unfortunately, his concert is too far from my home, so it will take more money to get there. Actually, I do agree with him, that it is better if we use our money for something which is more important than this, but it doesn’t mean he can call it as an unimportant thing. :p

Oh God, If I am a billionaire. I can buy everything I want, books, clothes, dresses, bags, and some other stuff.  I can have all Bieber’s album, My World, My World 2.0, Never Say Never, Under the Mistletoe and Believe. I can buy his entire book, Never Say Never, One Step to Forever and Just Getting Started. Then, absolutely I can go to the next Justin’s Concert, BELIEVE TOUR without giving any trouble to my father. Yeaaaahh…. ‘cause I am a Billionaire.

JEALOUSY

I would be so smart

Sometimes, you’ll face it on your journey. When you feel that your destiny is right in front of your eyes, but people who don’t know exactly where your destiny is, say that it’s still so far, and it will be so hard to pass it.

"Every step I'm taking

Lost with no direction

My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying

Gotta keep my head held high"

Then, you will be doubt about the step you take. Whether is it the right way or not, or should you still continue this journey or not. Those voices will affect your thought, but one thing you should remember is you should keep your head held high. So, you can see everything clearer then ever.

if you have seen everything clearer, you must be understand that you have no reason to turn back. What you have to do is only keep moving and keep going. No matter how long the journey is, how hard it is. You should hold your faith tightly. Your faith will make you strong.

Fall down, or find some deadlock on your journey doesn’t mean you should stop there. You can change your direction, or you can use your own way to pass the deadlock. Destroy it by putting a bomb on it, you can climb on it, or you can find another way. The important thing is, you believe in your heart that you’ll find the right way to your destiny.

Yeah, that’s true. It isn’t about how fast you get your destiny, or what is waiting there when you’ve arrived. You should keep going. Then you’ll know what is there. If you are sure that your destiny is a good place, then it will be. So, keep your faith. Don’t let anything shake your faith.

In Order to Make Everythings Better

Grading here means comparing. So, we will talk about comparing the teacher. Don’t go too far. Let’s talk about grading the teacher in our senior high. Everyone is different, and so do the teachers. The way they teach, some teachers teach by give so many notes for us and some of them just talk for the whole 2 hours lesson. The way they act out of the class, some of them really kind and some of them just seem don’t care. The ways they give the task to the student are also different, some of them give us so many tasks with extreme deadline, and some just give the task without any deadline.

All those differences make us comparing one teacher to another. Actually we don’t mean anything on doing that, it just expressing our feeling to the teacher. Comparing the teacher make us know them deeper so we will know how to act towards them. The student will avoid the thing that can make them angry or upset. If the student can do that, both of the student and teacher will get good atmosphere at the class, and of course it helps the teaching and learning process. Moreover, if the student is brave enough to tell it to the teacher of course with a good and polite way, probably the effect will be better than that. If the teachers have good respond, they will try to be better. So the student will love them and also their lesson.

But, usually the students can’t get a perfect time to tell them about it, and mostly the students aren’t brave enough to say that directly to the teacher. They are too afraid if the teacher will get angry to them. Because of that reasons, finally students just talk behind them. Something like this is causing bad effect. If the teachers hear bad news about them, and what they know it’s from their student, they will be sad and may be angry, or disappointed. Every bad feeling they feel, will give bad effect to the class and to their relationship with the student.

This is the student’s job. If they want everything becomes better between the teachers and themselves, they should do what they supposed to do. Talk directly to the teacher, in perfect time, and perfect way. Be honest to them without reducing your respect to them. Then, everything will be fine and better.

Good People, Perfect Election

Dormitory is a place where we live for three years. Sometimes, live there make us feel like a bird in a cage. This world is so wide, and you know, we only live in a small region at the small village, with a very limited time for go out. Suppose there is a wide field, and we only use the small area at the corner. Yeah, it’s just really boring.

You can imagine how hard it is. Fortunately every single person who lives there has their own special ability. Need evidence? This dormitory can be magically changed into a small country. It was just because the house captain. They worked hard together to held an election. Through this election, we can choose our leader. In a country, we call it a “president”.

This election had some processes, and it was almost same as the election in our country, Indonesia. They have campaign, public skill “oration”, then finally the election. We also acted as the society of the country. We should choose one of three candidates to become our leader. At that time we had three candidates, Tedy Z M, Afif Pandu A, and Ahmad Nando. They are the best three of nine candidates who was nominated.

All of the candidates followed the rules; they did the campaign by their own way. Tedy alloted his campaign brochures to each class, but shaped in an origami style. We can find his vision, mission and motto there. It is quite creative, right? Afif entertained us by holding an event, it’s kind of gathering night. There was also quite entertaining for us. The last but not least, was Nando. He used big sound system that usually used for speech.  It was surprising. At the public skill, they also did their best they could do, but the final result was on our hands, the society.

When the election time came and started at about 09.00 PM. It was our sleeping time, right? But it didn’t decrease our enthusiasm at all. Everyone came to the light house to vote although we should be patient, because the queue was so long. When everyone has done their turn to vote, two representatives of each house stayed at the light house for count the result. They acted as the witnesses. Can you guess the winner? Yeah, Ahmad Nando was chosen as the head of dormitory’s committee. 

The election ran really well and it was almost perfect. The candidates also did their best. If you heard some issues that they cheat on this competition. Please ignore it, it just their trick to attract their mass, as long as it stays at the rule, why not? It doesn’t mean they are cheating on this competition. They just pretty smart to think out of the box.

Computer as Our Buddy

If you ask someone about what computer is, probably you’ll get several answers. Such as, computer is a tool with several programs in it, or computer is a device that helps us on calculation. If you concern on it for more, the definition is mostly “computer is a tool or device to make a person’s job easier.” Yes, I know. It sounds like the definition of simple plane.  It is for real.

Computer is like a dog, a buddy for its master. Computers accompany you whenever you need them. You use them for doing your task, for expressing what you feel, to entertain you by playing some games, watching some movies. Computer will treat your curiousity by letting you to surf on internet. Some of you also can enjoy your hobby on computer, rendering some pictures, or calculating some programs or maybe anything else. You can also save your money to communicate with another person who is far away from your place. How helpful it is. So, it is really reasonable when you get worried if there is something wrong with them. Beside they are really expensive to get. They are also really meaningful for you. Seem like you are really dependent on it.

Everything at least has two sides, if there is good, so it should be bad in it. And if it is helpful, there should be harmful in it. Being in front of your computer all day can give you some illness. Such as, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), draining eyes, and also some backbone-related problems. NIOSH (The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) found that use of computer is causing stress. If you often ignore those side effects, it means that you already addicted. You should realize that, doing that activity is really wasting your time to socialize with other, which is an important thing for human like us.

It is okay you assume that computer is your buddy, but having a buddy doesn’t mean you will always together with them, right? You can have them whenever you need, but you should also think about your private time. When you have something that needs your computer’s help, such as make some report, or article which is should be posted (like this), you two can work together, but don’t forget to limit the time. Both of you need some rest for a while to do your task and you can do everything with your computer. Because you know, you are not too dependent on it.

Best Homework is...

I’m a student and it has been 11 years. So long, isn’t it?

You know, there are three types of student. The first is lazy student. School is school, home is home and they’ll not accept any homework. It’s better for them to do all things about school at school, the main example is homework. They don’t want to be disturbed by homework they come to school to finish their obligation there, and then when the bell rang, all stuff about school will be gone as the sound of the bell.

The second is diligent student, this is the real student. They come to school because they really want to do that. And how incredible they are, they can finish everything that related to school, especially homework. It doesn’t matter how many homework they get, they’ll finish it first. And of course, they will put the other things at the second place. Usually, this type of student is very loved by the teacher.

The third is average student. We can call them moody student. They will go to school happily if they want to, but sometimes they don’t want it. This type of student usually doesn’t really care about what happen at school. They don’t want to get the best rank at school, what they know is just do the best without forcing themselves.

What we knew about school is to get knowledge, not a mark, right? But we can’t go from the real life that our mark is the way we see how much knowledge we get. And everyone is asking ‘What is your mark?’ not ‘what kind of knowledge do you get?’. Teachers have some ways to give their mark to the student. Some of them will give a good mark to the student who is really diligent. How about the lazy ones then? They are lazy, but it doesn’t mean they don’t get the knowledge, may be they can get it once when they know about it, so they don’t need to reply it by homework.

Homework is one of several ways, to make the student remind the lesson before. But, every student has their own way to do it. If all teachers give the student homework which have deadline, it will not profitable, because usually they will cheat on their friend’s work, the diligent one of course. And it will not make them remember the lesson, it just going to stress them out.

Homework is for practice guys, so don’t be lazy to do your homework. Because it will help you to get and keep the knowledge you got. But still, homework without deadline is the real and the best homework.
